Benutze den Filter in einer 2" Version an meinem neuen EVOSTAR 102/1000mm Refraktor. Das beigefügte Foto entstand mit einer ZWO ASI585MC am Abend des 14.Mai 2024 bei recht guten Seeing.

I've bought this filter and the UV bandpass filter so I can take UV and VIS images with my adapted camera. It works really nice, nothing to complain.

I use this filter quite a bit. Stacking it sometimes with a 82A. Honestly so far these are the only two filters that I use anymore. The Baader moon and sky glow is great for Jupiter.

OIII Filter, welche die C-Linien inkludieren gibt es genug. Endlich einmal ein Filter der die OIII Linie aussperrt! Speziell in Himmelsbereichen mit OIII Nebeln im Hintergrund ist das definitiv ein Vorteil.

The new ultra-hightspeed filters have performed excellent from first light with my 14" Hyperstar setup. This is a 6h only starless HOO image.

Der (das?) Filter macht sich sehr gut z.B. bei monochromen Mondaufnahmen. Er setzt in einem Bereich ein, der das Seeing mildert, die CMOS-Cameras aber noch gut empfindlich sind. Verarbeitung und Qualität sind super!

I bought this fiklter from Alpine Astro just recently. I used it on my Explore Scientific ES80CF, the carbon fiber 80 mm refractor and Baader OD 3.8 filter. I captured images using ASI178MM camera, initially full frame and then using a PowerMate 2.5X into the imaging train. I am quite pleased to see the results. These are my first exposures with this filter. I hope to get better images as I get to know it better.

Well, some of you may already know me as the lunch break solar photographer, so I couldn't resist this filter. I knew what I was expecting: a monochromator pretty much like the Solar Continuum, maybe with a bit more mottling, maybe a bit more faculae, but otherwise nothing spectacular (no G-band, no MgII-bands, not even prominences as I did manage to capture one with the 5.5 Hydrogen Beta filter) just continuum. Allow me to show two photos, of the Sun on 2023-09-07, ND3.8, 102/714ED, Swan filter and ASI 533MM-Pro. One is the "as it came out" version, the other one has its details slightly enhanced via local contrasts.

Swan-Band-Filter wurden bislang nur von Lumicon produziert. Baader hat einen Filter herausgebracht, der sich von den Lumicon-Filtern unterscheidet. Lumicon hat 25 nm Halbwertsbreite und erfasst die [OIII]-Linie mit, ist also auch als [OIII]-Filter zu benutzen. Der Baader-Filter ist nur 15 nm breit und blendet diese Linie aus. Dieser Fakt allein wird wohl an einem Kometen nichts machen, wenn er nicht gerade vorm Zirrusnebel steht :) Eine geringere Halbwertsbreite heißt aber höherer Kontrast. Ich habe beide Filter an C/2023 E1 (ATLAS) verglichen. Komet Atlas ist derzeit (Mitte August 2023) noch um 9m5 hell und damit von einem dunklen Standort aus etwas für zumindest größere Ferngläser. Der Komet ist recht groß, 6'. Der Himmelshintergrund war mit dem Baader-Filter deutlich dunkler, das Bild ansprechender. In etwa wie der Vergleich von UHC (ohne S) und [OIII] an Nebeln. Das war von den Bandbreiten her auch zu erwarten. Der Kometenschweif emittiert möglicherweise andere Wellenlängen als der molekulare Kohlenstoff der Koma. Welche Auswirkungen dies hat, muss ich noch ergründen. ATLAS hat ja keinen wahrnehmbaren Schweif. Der Filter wurde von Baader prompt geliefert, nur 2 Tage.

Meine bisherigen Aufnahmen der Venus zeigten sehr einen harten Kontrast. Ein Sternfreund empfahl mir, es mal mit einem UV-Filter zu versuchen. Auf meine Anfrage, ob meine Planetenkamera QHY462-III C im UV-Bereich überhaupt noch empfindlich genug sei, hat mir prompt die BAADER-Hotline u.a. diesen Filter für die Kamera empfohlen. (Danke für das schnelle und umfangreiche Feedback). Hier das erste Ergebnis leider nicht unter optimalen Bedingungen (die Venus stand bereits sehr tief, bei leichter Bewölkung). Aber dennoch kann man deutlich erkennen, dass der Kontrast hier deutlich besser ist.

Good transmission from corner to corner with my f/3.6 wide field configuration at least on an 28mm * 22mm sensor. The filter diameter also generously covers entire chip. This filter works very well also on my color CMOS camera as both the blue and green pixels have great QE at 500 nm. This is 3/4 of all the pixels.

For my test of the new Baader UHC-L filter I chose the Orion Nebula, a bright winter object in the constellation of Orion. After 5 years of astrophotography, it was also the first time I photographed the bright emission nebula. I used my personal setup consisting of Celestron RASA 11" / QHY268M, the f/2 Ultra-Highspeed H-Alpha filter, and the CMOS-Optimized RGB filter set. For the luminance images, the new Ultra-L-Booster filter and the popular Hutech LPS-P2 (optimized for monocameras) were used. More on the direct comparison of the two luminance filters below. First impression of the UHC-L filter: All shots were taken around the new moon and with my moderately good sky (Bortle 6) the use of classical luminance filters in combination with the super-fast f/2 lens is almost impossible. So, I always had to use light pollution filters to get exposure times of more than 30 seconds per image. My first impression of the UHC-L filter was very positive. Exposures of 60 seconds were easily possible without the sky background becoming too bright and the signal-to-noise ratio becoming too bad. Maybe I'm a little too used to the narrow band ultra-high-speed filters and was hoping for the same contrast, but there's no substitute for a good sky. However, a clear difference in contrast between the two luminance images was immediately apparent. Due to the hard cut of the UHC-L filter in the yellow region, the well-known brown tones of the Orion nebula were missing in the final image, but in combination with the wider band Hutech LPS filter I was able to recover the missing tones without any problems and enjoy the additional contrast in the final luminance image, which would not have been possible without the UHC-L in any case. I could not see any reflections or halos around the bright stars. Here the UHC-L filter has a clear advantage. However, by combining the two luminance images to starless variants, the slight halos of the LPS filter were not a problem. For the colored stars in the final color image, I use only the color information of the RGB filters anyway, so the burned-out stars of the luminance images can be neglected. A direct comparison shows the true strength of the UHC-L filter. The fine details of the Orion nebula stand out much better from the background, including the contrast enhancement. Conclusion: The Baader Ultra-L-Booster filter is an excellent filter for astrophotography, especially for high contrast luminance images. With its high-quality workmanship and improved transmission, it is a valuable addition to any astrophotographer's arsenal. The significant contrast enhancement and reduction of light pollution make this filter a reliable tool for creating stunning images of emission nebulae and other objects such as comets. I would recommend the Baader Ultra-L-Booster filter to any astrophotographer who wants to take their photography to the next level.
