Ich habe diesen Filter für meine QHY600C Kamera bezogen und an mehreren Ha/OIII Nebelfeldern ausprobiert. Da die QHY600 eine Vollformatkamera ist, ist diese Größe sinnvoll um mit meinem RASA11 starke Vignettierungen vermeiden zu können. Eine Vignettierung ist nach wie vor vorhanden, die ist aber mit gut gemachten Flats komplett zu eliminieren. Die Himmelsbedingungen für die Aufnahmen waren nicht besonders gut - das Seeing war durschnittlich und es zogen immer wieder hohe leichte Schleierwolken durch, die den Kontrast von Ha leicht und den von OIII deutlich reduzierten. Dennoch ist das erhaltene Ergebnis mehr als zufriedenstellend - ich finde es wirklich sehr gut. Die starke Ha Region des angepeilten Ziels - NGC2264, wurde gut differenziert wiedergegeben und die OIII Bereiche sind farblich neutral gut unterschiedlich herausgekommen. Trotz der durch das suboptimale Wetter beschränkten Summenbelichtungszeit erhielt ich mit einem vertretbaren Aufwand im Postprocessing ein durchaus respektables Ergebnis. Aufgefallen ist mir auch, dass auch dieser Filter - so wie alle 2- oder 3-Bandfilter der leistbaren Preisklasse, im "Leerlauf" einen Farbgradienten beim Vollformat und der großen Öffnung des RASA (2,2) aufweisen - auch dieser Gradient ist mit den entsprechenden Flats komplett eliminiert worden und nachher bei dem entwickelten Stacks nicht mehr erkennbar. Alles in Allem finde ich, dass diese Neuentwicklung eine sehr sinnvolle und wichtige Ergänzung für die Erstellung von OSC Aufnahmen darstellt.

To my surprise, really few people image the Sun, full disk, with this filter. Well, it does its job. Attached: registax output (no further processing) of a stack of 1000-out-of-16000 frames registered in about 9 minutes. TLDR: no obvious difference, both the old one (double stacked, high cell) and the new genII (single, standard cell height) are **that good**. Context: for the past almost two years, I've been doing full disk solar imaging on basically each and every clear day, as a lunch break activity. Full disk, so relatively fast optics to fit onto the sensor, see below. With every filter I have, including deep sky filters, because why not, let me see. I used all kinds of Baader filters at least once, and competitors' dedicated, more expensive solar modules for both Hydrogen Alpha and Calcium K are a regular. I think it is important to mention especially the very narrow, Angstrom-wide CaK, since it kind of brackets the expectations to be realistic here, in concordance with the 5nm specification from Baader. Also, I am familiar with the visibility of the active regions -- the highlight of the Calcium K line -- in basically all wavelengths, also through the Venus U filter (to my surprise, people don't really turn it to the Sun), the nothing-special-about-it dark blue filter, the continuum (both the very old one + an IR cut as it leaks in the IR, and the new 7.5 nm fwhm), and even in deep sky Hydrogen Alpha at 7nm fwhm. The active regions are way less obvious towards the red, but are there and post-processing can emphasize them, and in ultraviolet they are almost comparable-ish to the CaK cells' image. The first time I used Baader's CaK filter, was back in 2015, and I remember being very happy with what I saw. Then, the filter was one of my favorites during the epic (for me at least) 2020 Venus season. So now there is this second generation filter on the market, I immediately placed the order, and got one. The above being said, I dedicated two days to testing the genII filter, especially against its predecessor, and also against other filters. 2023-03-19, Romania, UTC+2, local noon give or take, my setup: EQ3-mod, mountpusher, Baader Astrosolar ND3.8 Film (brand new), TS-Optics 76/342 TS76EDPH, automated filter wheel with Solar Continuum 7.5nm, CaK old, CaK gen2, uv/ir cut and Venus U, ASI 178MM (cooled) First of all, the seeing is a tricky thing in blue/UV, so the first day got dropped. From the second session, the three obvious differences: (1) the form factor -- the higher filter body means the filter wheel may need a mod, in my case placing a T2 washer to prevent the T2 tube from going deep into the wheel's body and collide with the old CaK's edge (2) the different focus position -- obviously (3) and the two times shorter exposure time for the new version -- this doesn't really matter for solar imaging, but for Venus it'l be a competitor to the Venus U, trust me. (4) uhm, basically no difference. The result of my test: the image quality is basically the same. I thought, at first, that my filter wheel got stuck or landed on the other filter, as I cycled through, or something, but I inspected the position manually, and also the exposure time was a tell tale sign, not to mention the focusing. Maybe it is the fast optics, and at f/8 it would look different, but again, both filters perform in the very same tube, minutes apart, so for full disk, with this sensor size, let us accept the results. Also, the changes in the seeing can be really weird. The images I posted here received no aesthetic editing, both are stacks with the same wavelets applied to them. I have chosen The Angel Nebula (NGC 2171) as a test object for the new Baader UHC-L / Ultra-L booster filter filter. This faint reflection nebula has filled me with desire and respect for years, as all my previous attempts at this object have practically failed. The normal wide open LRGB filters do not provide sufficient contrast at my location (Bortle 5). Only this wonderful UHC-L filter changed the game from the ground up. Admittedly, the night was moonless, but the visibility was not as good as in the high mountains or Namibia. Nevertheless, the result is amazing for me and awakens in me (an inveterate narrow-band photographer) an undreamt-of desire for new fields of activity, unbelievable! I use this on my full spectrum converted DSLR for UV photos. I have not seen anything else that even comes close. Buy once cry once, just get it.

Alnitak, 15x60s; Bin 2, aufgenommen mit den PlaneWave Delta Rho 350, f/3 Der neue UHC-L / Ultra-L-Booster Filter ist top; Nach dem Stacking und Aufdrehen der Daten ist nichts zu bemängeln! Kein Halo, kein Reflex; er ist genauso gut wie die neuen CMOS-optimierten RGB Filter.

Diese Aufnahme ist am 07.FEB (Mondphase 97%) und am 09.FEB (Mondphase 88%) am Rande einer Großstadt entstanden. An dieser Stelle möchte ich zeigen, dass man mit diesem schönen Filter sogar unter recht ungünstigen Bedingungen und auch @ f/1.9 erfolgreich Deepsky-Astrofotografie betreiben kann. Für diesen Test habe ich mich für scheinbare Standard Deepsky-Objekte entschieden. Auf den zweiten Blick sieht man jedoch die Handicaps. Es ist ein zwei Panel Mosaik, das absolut gradientfrei und exakt zusammengesetzt ist. Man sieht auch das Orion Trapezium und der Dynamikumfang vom Zentrum des Orion-Nebels bis hin in die äußeren Partien entspricht bei der EBV gefühlt der „Ewigkeit“. In dieser Aufnahme steckt, würde ich sagen, recht viel Herzblut drin. Bitte nehmen Sie sich einen Moment Zeit und beurteilen Sie bei voller Auflösung ( https://www.astrobin.com/full/rczzva/0/) die Sterne kritisch bis hin in die Ecken. Die Sterne sind hier nicht weiter prozessiert. In diesem Bild gibt es viele helle Sterne und es gibt nicht ansatzweise ein Halo. Selbst am mag 1.9 hellen Alnitak ist alles perfekt. Etwaige Spikes kommen wohl vom Anschlusskabel der Kamera, die sich beim C11-Hyperstar naturgemäß im Strahlengang befindet. Auch über die Sternwarte und die 10micron GM3000 HPS sollte man an diese Stelle ein Wort verlieren. Diese Aufnahme ist gänzlich ohne Guiding entstanden und die Belichtungszeit pro Sub betrug 600s. Die Präzision von diesem Setup ist einfach sagenhaft!

Erfahrung visuelle Nutzung an meinem 12 zoll dobson. Ich habe schon mehrere " planetenfilter" getestet und war bislang nicht besonders zufrieden mit der abbildungsleistung und der verarbeitung! Was kann ich aber über den Baader planeten filter sagen. Absolut genial! endlich sauber geschnittene gewinde! Kein verkanten mehr beim einschrauben oder überdrehen beim festziehen ! Saubere verarbeitung ! So soll das sein. etwas das mechanisch gut funktioniert macht spaß! Und nun visuell Genial! Egal ob ich mono oder im bino betrieb beobachte.scharfe abbildung bei sehr gute kontraststeigerung ohne das bild wie im farbfilter einzufärben!! Der gewinn ist toll . Es ist ein leichtes mit ihm deutlich mehr details zu erkennen. Z.b. der grf auf jupiter oder strukturierung mit den polkappen auf mars zu sehen wird mit ihm zur leichtigkeit. Ab und an noch einen graufilter dazu wenn es zu hell ist. Ich bin voll zufrieden sodass ich alle meine filter von baader geholt habe.

Ich habe den Filter jetzt etwa zwei Wochen und konnte ihn während der Sonnenfinsternis testen - ich bin begeistert. Die Bildqualität der Rohdaten ist deutlich kontrastreicher, was sich dann auch im fertigen Bild zeigt. Ich freue mich auf die kommenden klaren Wintersonnentage, um weiter mit dem Filter zu arbeiten und mein erstes Bild eines Sonnenflecks noch zu verbessern. P.S. Leider waren ein paar Staubflocken auf dem Zenitprisma - jetzt aber nicht mehr.

Der neue, nunmehr 7.5nm anstatt 10nm SOLAR CONTINUUM Filter hatte sein "first light" im Safety-Herschelprisma am Tag der partiellen Sonnenfinsternis am 6 Zoll APO Triplett, da ich damit die gesamte Sonne gerade mal so auf den Kamerasensor bringen konnte, was bedingt durch die Telezentrik bei Verwendung vom Baader SunDancer II nicht möglich gewesen wäre. Ich habe den neuen SC Filter zusammen mit dem ND3.0 Filter im Herschelkeil verwendet wie zuvor jenen mit 10nm, aber jetzt keinen direkten Vergleich mit dem Vorgängermodell gemacht, dazu war in der Hektik während der SoFi keine Zeit. Wieviel Kontrastgewinn also gegenüber dem 10nm tatsächlich vorliegt kann ich somit nicht sagen, aber zumindest, dass das Ergebnis sehr ansprechend geworden ist. Bilder anbei vom Tag der SoFi und vom Folgetag, klarerweise ohne Mond. :-)

Hallo und Guten Tag ... Ich möchte mit meinem Beitrag kurz aufzeigen wie gut der Baader Continuum 540nm Filter und die Baader Sonnenfilterfolie in Verbindung mit der Baader 2.25 Barlowlinse auch mit kleiner Ausrüstung ( Optik und Kamera ) zu verwenden sind. Auch so gelingen ( wie ich finde ) sehr brauchbare Beobachtungen / Ablichtungen der Sonne. Aufnahmedetail finden sich je in der Fotounterschrift. Gruss Marco Heeg
