This tool (#2450062) is good when the holes on the adapter ring are on the top or bottom surface, but what tool works with adapter rings that have holes on the side such as #2458230? Namely a tool with the pins facing each other?

A so called hook wrench is suitable for this purpose. If you look at our product Baader VariLock 29 (# 2956929), you will notice such a wrench on the product picture.
