I purchased a Baader laser collimator Mark III, and it arrived yesterday. However, when I tested it on a test stand, it revealed that it is not properly aligned. Specifically, it projected a circle with a 15mm diameter at a distance of 1.5 meters when turning.

For the time being, I'm switching back to my inexpensive Chinese laser collimator. I've heard that there are six adjustment screws located under the rubber cover, but I'm unsure how to remove the rubber cover. Should I attempt to remove the rubber cover myself to make adjustments, or would it be better to consider returning the collimator for a replacement?

Re: Mark iii coli. Is the collimation checked and set at the factory, and so likely to be in collimation when I receive it?. Many thanks.

LASER COLLI - MARK III
  • nichts

WOW!!!
Just collimtated my 6" SCT in less than 20 seconds in my living room! No need for artificial star, no need for defocusing a real star and collimating the scope by using my eyepiece, which takes a lot of time being out in the cold! I am a total amateur and this adjustment was a walk in the park! Thank you!
  • Great and easy to use tool!

SCT Collimation geht!
Hier meine Erfahrung an meinem Celestron C8 1995:

Bewertung Laser Coli Mark III
