What is the purpose of the thin black 'washer' in Baader UFC 2" (M48) Filter Slider? Is it for some filter with thread protruding too much? Or is it for correcting optical path distance?

I have a Celestron 8" Edge SCT, Baader 2" filters and a recently acquired Atik Horizon. What UFC components would I need to start with?

I have a full set of M48 Baader high speed narrow band filters for my RASA. I've invested in most of the UFC components useful for my setup.

The high speed filters when fully seated into the M48 filter slider prevent the filter slide from being inserted into the holding receptacle. Looking at the bottom of the fully seated filter they are too deep for the receptacle. The only way to use the slider with these filters is to screw the filter loosely into the filter slider so the bottom of the filter is flush with the bottom of the filter slider so it can slip into the receptacle without contacting the receptacle metal & jamming.

Was this a manufacturing oversight in the earlier life of the filter slide for the M48 model?

Please advise- Thanks.
