How long can I use Baader film? Does it degrade over time?
Brant / June 30, 20261 Answer
Our Baader AstroSolar Safety Film does not have a fixed expiration date. When stored and used properly, it can be used for many years without any degradation of its optical or protective properties.
The most important point is to inspect the film carefully before every use. As long as it is free from scratches, pinholes, tears or other mechanical damage, it remains perfectly safe to use.
We still have many customers who regularly use AstroSolar filters that were built more than 20 years ago, including filters made for the total solar eclipse in 1999.

When do you plan on putting on sale again the 50x100cm solar filter film? Nobody has it.
TheChosen / June 24, 20241 Answer
- This film size will certainly not be available for some time. The reason is that we have to produce this size together with all other types and sizes of film because the production quantities of the special optical film and the effort involved are very large. Unfortunately, it is difficult to predict how long such large-scale production will take, but we are working on it. The best thing to do is to register using the "Notify me..." function, you will not be able to get information about when we will be able to deliver again any faster. We regret that we cannot give better information with a more precise time frame at the moment.Baader Web Team / June 25, 202400

Can this film be used on something like existing glasses? Is there an adhesive element?
Adam Shefki / January 7, 20241 Answer
- No, the AstroSolar film may not be used on existing glasses and there is no adhesive element. The eye safety norm EN ISO 12312-2:2015-11 for naked eye solar viewers does not apply to front aperture filters, covering long-range optics. AstroSolar® Safety Film 5.0 is not authorized to be used for naked eye solar observation or production of solar viewers. For direct solar viewing without telescope, binocular or camera optics, inquire for our EN ISO 12312-2:2015-11 certified eclipse shades equipped with AstroSolar® Silver/Gold Film.Baader Web Team / January 8, 202410

Hola
¿Las laminas de filtro AstroSolar caducan?
Valentín Lorca Valdes / May 18, 20211 Answer
Baader Web Team / May 19, 202140
