Astro Tafelberg

6/20/2022 9:02 AM Baader Q-Barlow 2.25x / 1.3x
What is the focal length of the barlow or is the given magnification correct? I measured some photos and got different results. Is Answered? Yes (1 answer)
Answer rated: 0The focal length is 45.5mm, the magnifications given are correct for the Baader Classic eyepieces and all other eyepieces where the field sop is 2mm inside of the 1.25" nose piece. The magnification factor of a Barlow lens depends on how far it is from the field stop of the eyepiece or the camera sensor. So if your camera is in the wrong distance, it will deliver a different magnification. We have now explained this more extensive in this FAQ.Answer by: Baader Web Team (Admin) on Jun 20, 2022 9:03:00 AMRated: 16/17/2022 6:39 AM Baader Nose piece 1¼" / T-2 (T-2 part #14)

May I use the 2" barrel of Morpheus eyepieces using the 2" ckicklock adapter #2956242 on the T2 amici prism #2456130?
Morpheus 2" and 1,25" barrel have a length of 45mm and the clicklock adapter with thread 36,5mm, does this means the 1,25" barrel will hit the prism?
RegardsIs Answered? Yes (1 answer)
Answer rated: 0We have just tested this combination to be sure.
The 2"-barrel of the Morpheus eyepiece can be fully inserted without any interference.Answer by: Baader Web Team (Admin) on Jun 14, 2022 3:15:00 PMRated: -26/10/2022 5:15 PM Adaptercombination 3,3" to M68
The 3.3" thread used in the Celestron scope is different than the one used on the Meade scope. I wonder how is it possible that this adapter fits both. Maybe you have different versions? Is Answered? Yes (1 answer)
Answer rated: 0We have no idea why Meade changed their thread norm just a tiny bid when they copied Celestrons 3" thread. Celestron was first - but that had happened more than 40 years ago..
Also about 35 years ago we started to do accessories with that 3.3" size - and we saw that if we do create our own norm for the thread width - which is a tiny bit wider on the Celestron OTAs, then we could do one ring that will fit both telescope brands.
So we do produce 3.3" threaded rings with our own "in-house-standard" - and it works on both brands.Answer by: Baader Web Team (Admin) on Jun 14, 2022 9:39:00 AMRated: -26/10/2022 10:24 AM VIP 2x modular barlow lens, visual and photographic
Mine is not really a question, but I would like to offer my feedback regarding the configuration I use all the time for visual work:
(1) 2-to-1.25 reducer
(2) 15mm spacer ring
(3) 2" nosepiece (# 2408150)
(4) Baader VIP element housing cell
(5) Baader M43a x 0.75 / T-2a Adapter (# 2458199).
In particular, (4) is mounted on (5), and (5) is screwed at the bottom of (3) via T2 connection.
Advantages of this configuration for visual use are:
(1) the change in focus position when the VIP is used or removed is minor. Also, adding spacers does not change the focus position much
(2) it is more solid, as the connection with the focuser is via 2"
(3) the barlow can be used with refractor diagonals in 2" without hitting the mirror or prism.
Thanks for making such a wonderful tool.Is Answered? Yes (1 answer)
