wirklich brauchbare Zusammenstellung von SoftwareIch benutze MIDAS unter Linux (Fedora) gelegentlich und habe auch mit den Windows basierenden Programmen zur Spektralauswertung etwas Erfahrung gesammelt. Mit MIBAS bekommt eine wirklich brauchbare Zusammenstellung fertig in einer VM gliefert. Das läßt fast keine Wünsche übrig. Mit fast meine ich nur, dass man mal das Ganze wieder auf ein aktuelles Fedora heben könnte. Ich persönlich nutze dennoch MIBAS und weniger meine eigene zusammengestrickte VM ;-) Danke an das Baader-Team für die kostenlose Unterstützung.Ingo Küttner

Massive timesaverBeing able to download a precooked virtual machine with IRAF and MIDAS is a huge convenience, avoiding the vast amount of wasted time I spent unsuccessfully trying to install IRAF recently. It's a big download at 5GB, but definitely worth it for the convenience. And there are other useful things, like python and PyRAF on there as well.Tom

MIBAS SoftwareKnowing nothing about LINUX, I did not dare using LINUX based software like MIDAS, IRAF etc for spectroscopy. But being keen on playing around with spectra obtained with the BACHES spectroscope I overcame my hesitation and installed the Virtual Box and the MIBAS program suite with the help of a Baader collaborator.This help was extremely useful and necessary for me. The installation was successful. Calibration and raw data reduction work fine. The software interface is still in development. Final reduction using reference stars will come soon. I encourage amateur spectroscopists to try out this product.Anton Heidemann

MIBASNachdem ich mich mit MIDAS und ergänzend MIBAS vertraut gemacht habe im Einsatz des Baches-Echelle Spektrographen, möchte ich mich für den reibungslosen Einsatz mit besonderer Unterstützung von Herrn Roman Gümperlein und Herrn Bernd Koch bedanken und die freundliche Bereitschaft von Herrn Tobias Baader. Da ich schon Jahrzehnte in gutem Kontakt mit Baader Planetarium und den Spezial-Teams stehe, möchte ich mich auch für die freundliche und kompetente Beratung in den jeweiligen Fachgebieten bedanken. Viele Ihrer Mitarbeiter sind mir sehr vertraut und auch liebenswürdig. Herzlichen Dank! Da ich bereits mit dem Star-Analyzer, dem Dados Spetrographen gearbeitet habe und auch noch einsetze, möchte ich auch den komplexen Einsatz mit empfohlener Software betonen. Die Beratung in vielfältiger Art möchte ich nicht missen. Durch das MIBAS Programm wird MIDAS enorm erweitert und auch komplexe Eingaben reduziert und sinnvoll vereinfacht. Ein Wechsel von MIBAS auf MIDAS et vice versa ist ohne Probleme mit der virtual box in Ubuntu möglich. Eine Einarbeitungszeit ist im Rahmen der Spektroskopie selbstverständlich! Bundle: Hyperion Universal Zoom Mark IV with Hyperion-Barlow 2.25x (8-24mm / 3.6-10.7mm)
Hello, I already have one of first version of the Hyperion zoom (there's only written Hyperion 8-24mm Clickstop-Zoom (Phantom Group Coated)) and I want to ask you: can I use it in pair with a Mark IV or III with a binoviewer..? Or should I avoid because of different size of the barrel...or different size of exit pupils ? Thank you very much for your answer and attention. Saluti

Can this FFC be used with a SCT such as a Celestron C6 or C8 for imaging in at T2 imaging train?

OPFA - Eyepiece Projection adapter ( I - VII )
Which Eyepiece Projection Adapters are compatible with Celestron Schmidt Cassegrain Telesopes.
Answer rated: 0OPFA-3 for Celestron 2" SC-Thread #2458143 can be attached directly onto the 2" SC-thread on the back of all Celestron Schmidt-Cassegrains.
OPFA-2 for 2" eyepiece clamps #2458142 fit's into all 2" eyepiece clamps and is the probably the most versatile option.
OPFA-1 for 1 ¼" eyepiece clamps #2458141 fits into 1.25" eyepiece clamps.
If possible, we'd recommend OPFA-2 (easier handling, sturdier than a 1.25" eyepiece clamp) or OPFA-3 (the sturdiest version, holds even heavy cameras safe, but has to be screwed onto the telescope). Baader SC / HD Ultra Short T-Adaptor, 9mm optical length
The 2", 24 turns-per-inch thread does not appear to be a standard thread in any of the UNF, UNC or Whitworth lists. All threads have dimensional tolerances (permitted dimensional deviations). The standards, such as ISO 965 for metric threads or ASME/ANSI B1.1 for Unified National threads, specify these. How are the permitted dimensional deviations defined for this product please? My reason for asking is that I want to be very sure that £2000 worth of camera equipment held in place by this product will not fall off. The consequences could be serious.

My adaptor arrived this morning and I have attached it to the telescope. It works just fine, does not “jiggle” or “wiggle” and I applied as much force as I dared to try to pull it off. It didn’t even almost pull off.

2" BDS-SC Baader Diamond Steeltrack® Focuser
Hello, I'm looking for a taller focus travel. I have a LX200 12' and I'm asking myself if 30mm focus travel will be enough. In fact, I've seen the RT version and I'm asking myself if the RT focuser won't fit onto my LX200.
I have an other question, which adapter do you recommend to be used between my LX and that focuser ?

Usually you mount the SC modell and focus with the original focus knob to a range that you can focus all your accessories furthermore with the Diamond Steeltrack SC. Please hold in mind that Meade sometimes uses sligtly different tolerances for the thread, We had some trouble with it in
the past. Which adapter you need for your telescope depends the thread you have. For the Steel Tracks you can find all dimensions under the Link
