I'm using 2 different telecentrics depending on desired field of view (2x Telecentric & 4x Telecentric). Will the insertion of a Baader M68-tilter behind the 0.4 Telecompressor change the reduction value of the telecompressor if I maintain a registration distance of 74mm between the camera chip and telecompressor in both setups?

Details
Baader Telecompressors 0.4 / 0.7x for Solar Spectrum
Suitable for all SolarSpectrum H-alpha Filters - with 2" male threads on both sides
Possible adaptations consisting of Baader T-Adapter, Zeiss T-2 changer system, T-2 Prism and Baader Eudiascopic eyepiece f = 30 mmSolar Spectrum H-alpha filters require parallel light with a ray path of at least f/30. This is achieved by a focal length with our telecentric systems (and possibly also by dimming the lens with the iris). Because of the focal length extension in many telescopes the sun is not completely visually apparent when using eyepieces with f = 30 to 35 mm.
Note: both Baader Solar Spectrum Telecompressors are mounted straight onto the Solar Spectrum body rear end and reduce the f/30 ratio by a factor of 0.4x (#2459260) respectively 0.7x (#2459259). As a result, a much larger portion of the solar surface comes into view, depending on the size of the Etalon mounted inside the Solar Spectrum filter.
A telecompressor is used to adjust the focal length to possibly poor seeing conditions and / or enlarging the field for photographic- or webcam applications.
To attach the telecompressor use our 2″ Universal flange (# 295 8240); it gets attached with four screws directly onto the filter housing (see illustration), the telecompressor is mounted directly into the 2″ thread of the universal flange. The main thread of the compressor also is a 2″ male thread. This can be changed if necessary with parts from our T-2 accessories system either to a T-2 internal or external thread.
Application examples of the 0.7x Telecompressor:
The picture shows one possible combination, consisting of Baader T-Adapter (BTA # 240 8160 Part 21), Zeiss T-2 exchange system consisting of changer and change ring (# 245 6321 Part 6 and Part 7), one of our T-2 prisms and a Baader Eudiascopic eyepiece f = 30 mm.
The astro-images show the effectivness and the enlarging of the field of view with the 0.7x solar spectrum telecompressor on a 6 “refractor at f = 2250mm, dimmed down to 75mm, thus at f/30. The comparisons show the operation of the SolarSpectrum telecompressor. Primary focal length of the photographing lens is 2250 mm, reduced to 1700mm telephoto compressor The advantages: significantly larger field of view and reduce of the necessary exposure times!

Solar imaging with the TEC 140 f/7 Fluorite Apochromat
On 2 June 2021, our customer Alan Jadanić sent us these amazing solar images taken with the TEC APO 140 f/7 Fluorite Apochromat (#1351005 , € 10650) . He used our kam unser D-ERF Energy rejection filter 135mm, a Solar Spectrum H-alpha Filter and the 2" Research Grade TZ-3 Telecentric System (3x focal length) (#2459257 , € 445) . Thank you! We would like to empahasise the multifunctional usability of the TEC APO 140 FL for DeepSky, visual observations and H-alpha. This optic can really be used day and night and is therefore a real all-rounder. Dear Mr. Baader, I have spent a few days with the TEC 140FL and a Solar Spectrum RG38 0,5Å filter and I must say that it is a very good filter both for visual observations and photography. The telescope for itself is an exceptional piece of astronomical equipment and with an excellent sharpness. With an ASTF 140 solar filter for white light, you can see the sunspots perfectly and even solar granulation is clearly visible. Tips for Choosing an Energy Rejection Filter for H-alpha-Observations
The purpose of an Energy Rejection Filter is to prevent as much solar energy as possible from entering the telescope in the first place and thus avoid excessive heating of the etalon of an H-alpha filter. This is done most effectively by a filter in front of the telescope. At the same time, this prevents the air in the tube from heating up - the telescope remains close to the ambient temperature, and there are no air turbulences inside of the OTA due to temperature differences. If we look at the solar spectrum, it becomes clear that such a filter must primarily block visible light. Ideally, it reflects the solar energy energy instead of absorbing it and and does not heat itself up in the process as well - that's why these filters are called Energy Rejection Filters (ERF for short). Since it is occasionally asked: A Herschel wedge or a white-light front-filter cannot be used as an ERF because it also darkens the H-alpha line. Telecentric System or Barlow Lens? A Barlow lens is the best-known way to change the focal length and thus the focal ratio of a telescope. A telecentric system is similar to a barlow, but also contains an additional positive lens element. This makes it possible to change the focal length of the telescope and to achieve a parallel beam of light. For most applications, therefore, a barlow lens is fine; but especially in connection with narrow-band interference filters (as for solar observation in H-alpha), the more complex construction of a telecentric system is absolutely necessary. However, both systems have their own advantages To understand the differences, you must first understand: The position of an image point depends on how far it is away from the centre of the image. With a Barlow lens, the distance increases with the extension factor, so the image is "blown up" after the Barlow.
