Mounts from Eckhardt Alt
ALT mounts cannot shine either through voice control or through Internet support, but they certainly belong to the most precisely functioning and at the same time highest instrument load bearing mounts. For many years, Baader Planetarium has exclusively supplied the mounts manufactured by Mr. Alt, both individually and largely by hand. Mr. Alt has been retired for several years now.
At this point we would like to thank Mr. E. Alt for the many years of good cooperation and wish (albeit with regret) a pleasant, well-deserved retirement.
If you have any service questions concerning ALT mounts, please do not hesitate to contact us, we will forward your inquiry if necessary.
On our old www.baader-planetarium.de website we had an extensive presentation of the ALT mounts, which we would like to make available to you here as a reference in PDF form (sorry, German language only). At the current time (January 2019) we still have very few ALT mounts in stock and this is probably the last opportunity to purchase such a mount. We do not offer these as single products on our website, if you are interested, please contact us.

Do you have UV/IR filter for Canon 5Ds ?
Do you have service for astro upgrade this camera and how much does it cost ?Is Answered? Yes (1 answer)
Answer rated: 0After almost two decades, we have decided to discontinue our Canon astro upgrade service, as the demand for modified cameras has decreased significantly over the last years. Unfortunately we do not offer filters for Canon 5D anymoreAnswer by: Baader Web Team (Admin) on Mar 18, 2024 3:28:00 PMRated: 0
I own a since (about) year 2005 a Baader/Zeiss binocular viewer (there is no catalog label on the case, I think it is a Marl IV, physically it is identical to Mark V). I have now a 1.25x glass corrector and would buy a 1.7x one. I see on a datasheet paper regarding Mark V that the corrector has a "factor 1.70x - can be installed before the Baader 90 degree prism diagonal for 2x". I did not know that the corrector could be installed in another way (where, how?). It means that my 1.25x, that is in fact mounted in-between the bino and the 90° diagonal, provides a 2x factor?
Thank you, best regards

Answer rated: 0The glasspath corrector works similar to a Barlow (although the optical details are different), and its magnification factor depends on the distance to the eyepiece (see e.g. https://www.baader-planetarium.com/en/blog/barlow-lenses-their-magnification-factors-and-working-distances/ ). So, if you place a GPC farther away, its magnification changes. They are designed for a specific distance, but work quite well in different distances, too.
For such applications, they can be mounted between two T-2-threads of many T-2-adapters (e.g. between two T-2-extension tubes), their collar is then clamped between the two parts.Answer by: Baader Web Team (Admin) on Mar 18, 2024 11:06:00 AMRated: 0

Answer rated: 0No its not possible to use it with TEC ED - and its no stock item either. AstroPhysics can´t tell us a delivery time at the momentAnswer by: Baader Web Team (Admin) on Mar 14, 2024 4:25:00 PMRated: 0
Does the eye relief change when using any extension ring?Is Answered? Yes (1 answer)
Answer rated: 0There may be a slight decrease in eye relief with the Hyperions when used with an extension, but it is barely noticeable - the eyepiece can still be used comfortably with glasses.Answer by: Baader Web Team (Admin) on Mar 14, 2024 9:14:00 AMRated: 0
I have a Cassegrain telescope with an F/D ratio of 20. Are 1.5x barlows available to obtain an F/D ratio of 30? If not, what would you recommend? Is Answered? Yes (1 answer)
Answer rated: 0A conventional Barlow lens will not do the job, you will need a telecentric system. Here the explanation https://www.baader-planetarium.com/en/blog/the-benefits-of-telecentric-systems/
We have no 1,5x telecentric. The only way to reach f/30 is step down the aperture. Please note that by all means you need an DERF filter in front of your telescope when attaching an Halpha filter! Or the telescope and the filter will be damaged servely.Answer by: Baader Web Team (Admin) on Mar 7, 2024 10:20:00 AMBaader Planetarium GmbHOur company exists now for more than 50 years.
