Mounts from Eckhardt Alt
ALT mounts cannot shine either through voice control or through Internet support, but they certainly belong to the most precisely functioning and at the same time highest instrument load bearing mounts. For many years, Baader Planetarium has exclusively supplied the mounts manufactured by Mr. Alt, both individually and largely by hand. Mr. Alt has been retired for several years now.
At this point we would like to thank Mr. E. Alt for the many years of good cooperation and wish (albeit with regret) a pleasant, well-deserved retirement.
If you have any service questions concerning ALT mounts, please do not hesitate to contact us, we will forward your inquiry if necessary.
On our www.baader-planetarium.de website we had an extensive presentation of the ALT mounts, which we would like to make available to you here as a reference in PDF form (sorry, German language only). At the current time (January 2019) we still have very few ALT mounts in stock and this is probably the last opportunity to purchase such a mount. We do not offer these as single products on our website, if you are interested, please contact us.

Please can you indicate which Diamond Steeltrack focuser will fit to an Orion-Optics ODK10 reflector telescope.
Is Answered? Yes (1 answer)
Answer rated: 0Normally we would recommend the SC version. But we cannot find an information with thread is on the rear end of the telescope. Please inquire from Orion or an Orion dealer. Her you find the technical drawing of our SteelTrack Focusser that shows all possible adaptors https://www.baader-planetarium.com/de/downloads/dl/file/id/29/product/2856/bds_sc_dimensions_technical_drawing.pdfAnswer by: Baader Web Team (Admin) on Mar 5, 2021 9:19:00 AMRated: 02/26/2021 7:37 PM Baader Single Polarizing Filter
I use 1 1/4 eyepieces on a SOlar wedge. For nighttime observing, I use a T2 Zeiss prism diagonal with a 2" nosepiece (which sits in a 2" focuser). I already have a 1 1/4 " polarising filter which fits onto my eyepieces. Can I combine this with a 2" polarising filter, to be put before the prism, and use the combination as a variable polariser for lunar observation (i.e. one polarising filter before the prism and a second one after the prism, and conveniently rotating the eyepiece to get the desired dimming)? This would be very practical, if it works, but will this setup be less good than a dedicated 1 1/4 inch variable polariser? Is Answered? Yes (1 answer)

Answer rated: -1This filter blocks everything from 300 nm up to 1200 nm - except for a "clean" solar continuum-area at 540 nmAnswer by: Baader Web Team (Admin) on Feb 26, 2021 3:12:00 PMRated: 02/26/2021 10:43 AM BCF 2 - DSLR Astro Conversion Filter for Canon Full-Format Cameras (all latest Models)

I would like to attach the Sky Surfer V to an Orion 180mm Mak-Cass. The spacing between the available finder scope screws is 0.75 inches (approximately 19mm). This spacing appears to be too narrow for the Baader Standard Base that comes with the Sky Surfer V. Is it acceptable to use the center hole plus one of the slots to attach the base to the Mak-Cass or to maybe use only the center hole? If neither approach is acceptable do you have a dovetail mounting base that will work with a 19mm attachment screw spacing? Is Answered? Yes (1 answer)
Answer rated: 0It is no problem to attach the base to a round tube only with the central screw - the form of the base makes it impossible that it rotates on the telescope, and one screw is sufficient to hold the weight.
Only on a flat surface or if you can't tighten the screws, you will need two screws.Answer by: Baader Web Team (Admin) on Feb 26, 2021 10:27:00 AMBaader Planetarium GmbHOur company exists now for more than 50 years.
