What is the in focus requirement of the binoviewer

The optical length of the Baader Giant Binoviewer Mark V is 113mm. We suggest to use a 1.25x glass path corrector in order to get the color correction right. This will also enlarge the backfocus of your telescope and will be enough magnification for most applications.

Good evening, I just bought a Mark V. The two rings left side solidarity, it is not possible to adjust the diopter on this side? Is this normal?
In addition, on the right side, there is a small opening about 15 ° at the bottom of the right eyepiece tube. A little external light penetrates into the right tube. Is that also normal?

The locking rings move in opposite directions (one clockwise, one couterclockwise) - but both have a diopter adjustment and a clicklock, so you should be able to rotate both rings.
Iy fou are talking about the whole close to the bridge, which is closed when you move both parts of the binoviewer to the closest pupil distance: This is normal and necessary to adjust the interpupillar distance; but intruding light is no problem.

The binoviewer has got "only" a clicklock eyepiece adapter, so you can't screw the eyepieces directly (and theft-proof) onto the binoviewer. The Clicklock can't be removed, because it also contains the mechanism for the diopter adjustment.
To attach the Hyperion Zoom, we recommend to use the adapter "A" for spotting scopes which is included with the eyepiece, because it saves you some more millimetres of backfocus.

Please excuse, there is no answer to this question. What do you mean by "total light transmission"? The incoming light is split into two channels - evidently the light in both channels appears to be notably dimmer when you close one eye at a time and try to judge the brightness in each channel separately. What does not come into play during such kind of "fake-evaluation" is "the power of the human brain".
It happens "in the brain" that both light trains become reunified. And what actually happens there is that the image all of a sudden does NOT look dimmer but that fine detail and most subtle color differences within planetary surfaces become recognizable much easier and that observation happens effortlessly without fatigue - even when observing over a long time. Regardless of light throughput - the real virtue of a binocular viewer does lie in the optical quality of the glass and utmost care in optical surface polish, in perfect angle orthogonality of each prism, an immaculate beam splitter quality, highest degree of optical adjustment of all optical elements at any interpupillary distance - and only lastly: utmost coating quality. These are the most necessary criteria (in this order) for supporting an undeteriorated viewing experience with both eyes - even at highest magnification work. So - whatever anyone else is claiming - the Mark V has the best light throughput and the highest quality prism surfaces and adjustment - and and and - of any commercial astro-binocular viewer in the market.

We have described several adaptations in the manual which you can find in the download section of the MaxBright Binonoviewers website. For an SC, you basically only need a nosepiece. We also recommend a Glasspath Corrector 1.25x, although it is not absolutely necessary - but at higher magnifications, it removes the colour aberrations which may be visible even at an f/10 telescope.

Please make sure that you have a sturdy eyepiece clamp. For a compact adaptation, we also recommend a TZ-2 star diagonal which can be attached directly to the binoviewer, but reaching focus is no problem with a Schmidt-Cassegrain.

Is a glasspath corrector necessary for use on an SCT to correct color? I plan to use a Mark V on a Celestron 14 and do not want to add more focal length and higher power than the C14 already has. Thankyou for the answer.

At f/10, the light path of the telescope is parallel enough that you can usually work without a glasspath corrector, although it may still be interesting to achieve further magnifications.

I like to buy a Mark V Großfeld (Giant)-Binocular. With the Bino I like to buy a Glasspathcorrector.
I am using a Takahashi 120 refractor (TSA-120) F/7.5. Would Glasspathcorrector Factor 2,6 be a good choice?
Also, I like to ask you for what Diagonal to chose for this Bino. I have the Baader 2" ClickLock Diagonal Mirror # 2956100, for a year and I am very, very pleased with it!!
Should I choose this diagonal # 2956100, or should I chose Baader 2" ClickLock Diagonal Mirror M68 thread (Zeiss) # 2956100Z for the Mark V Großfeld (Giant)-Binocular with Glasspathcorrector Factor 2,6 ?

For the TSA 120 the glaspath corrector 1,7x would be suitable, but 2,6x works too. Its better to use the T-2 mirrors and not 2" mirrors with the Mark V binocular, the long way that the light travels through a 2" mirror may be too long to reach focus.
