I just purchased your Baader Clicklock SCL #2956233 for my Celestron C11. It screws on smoothly and tightens up very well to the C11 rear cell. Too well. It is very hard to remove once you snug it up. Is there a washer recommended to go between the Clicklock and the rear cell to make it easier to remove? Sometimes I need to reinstall the original visual back so I have SCT threads for my flip mirror.

I've recently purchased a new ClickLock 2 inches clamp (part num. 2956254) to upgrade my new Skywatcher Quattro 8P's focuser.

Much to my surprise, I found that the ClickLock is unable to lock the Skywatcher original coma corrector: even if the ClickLock is completely closed, the coma corrector still slips free in the focuser tube.

The same issue appears with the SharpStar 1X coma corrector.

Were you aware of this issue?

Thiis problem could be easily solved if the ClickLock was able to reach a slighly smaller diameter at its maximum closing position.

Is there anything I can do to solve this problem, other than return the ClickLock a use the original focuser adapter? I really love the ClickLock

I just received the #2956268 M68a x 1-ClickLock (Zeiss-norm / Baader M68-System) for my TS ED Apo 102 /714.
I have to screw The Baader ClicLock in the telescope, but i have no locking screws to secure the ClicLock to the telescope.
On my Skywatcher Mak 150 i also have a Baader ClicLock, and that one does have locking screws to secure the ClicLock to the telescope.
So why i can"t the ClicLock to my Apo?

I recently purchases a 2" Baader Clicklock visual back to use with my EdgeHD 8" SCT. My issue is that the system is too tight and binds up. When I put a 2" diagonal or eyepiece into the clicklock and go to lock it I can only get about 1/2 of the rotational movement before it gets tight to the point of binding up.

Is this an issue or is it designed like this? I also thought that the part would be smooth when rotated, but I can feel distinct clicks so to speak. I just want to make sure that this unit is good and not defective, and I have never use this type of system before

Please clarify the dimensions of the 37mm Clicklock Extension 2956237:
1. The length of the barrel: a posted answer says it is ca. 24mm.
2. The overall length of the extension: a posted answer says it is 60mm.
3. The problem with these answers is that 37mm + 24mm = 61mm, not 60mm.
4. How deep a 2" barrel can be inserted into the 37mm Clicklock Extension? I don't believe this information has been posted in an answer yet.

I have a question about the Baader click lock. I own a Feather Touch focuser which has two tension screws and two brass pressing rings on the inside. Normally I put a 2 inch flattener directly into the focuser. Unfortunately this isn't a threaded connection, but I can't help that. Now here's the problem: my images seem to suffer from tilt, probably since there is too much wiggle between the focuser and the flattener. A friend advised me to look into the Baader click lock which may solve the tilt problem. My question is whether or not that could be a true statement and secondly how the click lock should be attached to my focuser. Maybe I need an extra adapter with it?

I have a Baader Clicklock on my C9.25 with a FeatherTouch 2-speed focus knob that is much longer than the stock focus knob, resulting in my 2" diagonal hitting the focus knob when I try to position it to the right side of the OTA. Would I simply need to purchase either the 37mm or 47mm extension tube to rectify this?
Thank you.

Recently purchased a Celestron 8" EdgeHD SCT. Not happy with the standard visual back setup. I'd like to replace it with the Baader ClickLock system. The EdgeHD visual backs are longer than the standard visual backs. Mounted on the base (3.3"?) ring is a tapered, faceted cone, providing additional length. Apparently this is to take advantage of the EdgeHD’s optimum image size which is farther back than the same position for a standard SCT. Three questions:
1. Do I leave the base ring on the SCT (it's mounted quite tight, I haven't been able to remove it with normal force), and just use the 2" threading? Or do I remove the base ring (with extra force?) and use the 2" Baader ClickLock with 3.3" clamp?
2. Do I need to compensate for the extra length of the standard setup cone? And if yes, how is this accomplised?
3. If I want to use the Celestron .7x Focal Reducer for the 800 EdgeHD, I'm assuming this goes between the SCT and the Baader ClickLock?
Appreciate your feedback. Thanks in advance!

Is there a clicklock model that fits the Celestron star diagonal that came with the telescope with model no. 94115-A? Or do I need to switch to a new star diagonal? If so, which one? I have a Celestron Edge HD 925 with the 3.3" SCL threads. I'd like to use the SCL ClickLock adaptor (2956233) to easily swap between a diagonal + eyepiece and a camera setup. With the ~146mm back focus length, it looks like I'm not able to use the ClickLock system on the telescope side of a star diagonal, such as the 2" Diagonal Mirror (2956100, 112mm optical length). These add up to 152mm, over budget by 6mm.

I have a stack that is working for my camera setup. Is there an option that works for the visual setup?

Please advise as to whether this will work on a Celestron Omni XLT 120? Will it fit directly onto the bear focuser draw tube? I don't have the adapter/end cap that fits onto the end of the focuser tube.
The tube does not have an external thread nor an internal thread. I think that it uses a flange-like fitting.
If you have a model that will work, which one is it?

Hi,

I own a Celestron EdgeHD 9.25 SCT with CPC mount. It comes with 2" back and 2 inch diagonal. Can I replace the back with the #2956233 SCL (3,3")-ClickLock and then interface the Baader 2" ClickLock Diagonal Mirror# 2956100 ? I don't see this combination described in your documentation. If I missed it, apologies.

This would allow me to easily rotate the diagonal if needed and would appear to keep focal length very close to original. There is no problem with zenith rotation of OTA.

Any comments on doing this are appreciated.

Thanks!

The Baader ClickLock®-System (1¼" / 2") in an overview

Never before has an eyepiece clamp for amateur astronomy been so elaborately crafted.

Das Baader ClickLock System - 1.25 und 2 Zoll
C14, SCL Klemme und ClickLock Zenitspiegel mit Scopos 30mm Extrem Okular
Heaviest tested load: complete C14 with SCL 2" ClickLock clamp and a 2" ClickLock mirror diagonal with Scopos 30mm Extreme eyepiece. Attention: not recommended for imitation!
Anwendung der 2 Zoll ClickLock Okularklemme

The Baader ClickLock (1¼" / 2") is a precisely fitting, very massive eyepiece clamp without clamping screws (!). Inserted eyepieces, CCD cameras and similar accessories are securely held in place, locked against rotation and won't be scratched in any way! With a small turn of 20°, each eyepiece is firmly clamped. You will never have to handle small locking screws again – instead, just rotate the top of the eyepiece clamp for a few degrees, and the eyepiece will be firmly fixed. This is also no problem with gloves on!

Our various ClickLock clamps are made of seven precision-machined components which provide a highly effective retention mechanism that securely holds any 1¼" or 2" eyepiece. The clamp is very expensive to assemble, the price therefore initially may appear high for "nothing more than" a clamping device. But if you think about the comfort, precision and stability, it's well worth the money.

You do not have to tighten the ClickLock clamps with brutal force, because the mechanical principle comes from professional mechanical engineering. This is how the tool holder in modern CNC milling centers works. Clever use of leverage multiplies the torque. The inserted object is held on three sides similar to a quick-action chuck and can therefore no longer carry out any tilting movements.

Detailed information about the 2" ClickLock system

Beispielumbau Standard auf ClickLock
Example of switching a standard 2" clamp to 2" ClickLock

We have tested the effectivity and stability of the ClickLock mechanism for many years with the 1¼" ClickLock clamp.
The 2" ClickLock system is designed to be much more mechanically solid.

  • Even a 20° turn with light pressure of the rotary lever is enough to hold all 2" accessories absolutely securely and firmly.
  • Ratchet function – indicates the position of the clamp acoustically and haptically. So you can know if the clamp is open or closed in the dark and without looking.
  • Massive tension ring – keeps even the most expensive accessories absolutely safe, without causing scratches and bruises
  • The position of the rotary lever is adjustable for left-hand / right-hand use either by six camera slotted screws or by six Allen screws with a hexagonal wrench (depending on the model)
  • The heaviest tested load to date is a complete C14 with an SCL-clamp and a 2" Click Lock star diagonal with a Scopos 30mm extreme eyepiece. The C14 has been lifted on the eyepiece. We emphasize that this test setup is not is recommended for imitation.
  • The extensive range of ClickLock clamps makes it possible to retrofit the Baader 2" ClickLock clamp on many telescopes

With the 2" Clicklock clamp, you can also convert e.g. your 2" Maxbright mirror (or the 2" universal prism) to the Clicklock system, simply unscrew the old 2" clamp and screw on the new 2" Clicklock clamp.

Worthwhile upgrade of Nexstar Evolution 6
I upgraded my telescope. First with the Hyperion zoom with Barlow. Huge improvement over the supplied eyepieces. Later with a Baader prism diagonal and two ClickLock clamps. This is a great improvement. Much easier to operate. No more fiddling with the bad combination of tiny screws and cold fingers. The build quality and the secure and solid assembly of the parts is amazing and highly recommended. The more I look into the Baader products the more impressed I get. I also got a Baader T -ring and a nose piece for my DSLR and with the ClickLock it is very easy to connect securely to the telescope. I had a few questions and the Baader customer service were fast in answering them.
  • Build quality, finish, stability and ergonomics. Customer service

  • sehr gute Klemmwirkung - teleskopseitig

The clicklock is precise, keeps the eyepiece (camera) in its center. But sometimes gets stuck, then hard to open it.And too thick, you hardly get focus on some telescopes.

Also beide Zubehörteile sehr zu empfehlen!!!
