Please note: This set replaces the former set #2458402 for visual and photographic application of the MPCC Mark III. The old set consisted of a multitude of rings – but was not adjustable in optical length such as this V-1 set.

I purchased the Hyperion Zoom and the MPCC Mark III. Can you tell me how to adapt the eyepiece to the coma corrector?
I also want to use other eyepieces. How do I know the right distance between fieldstop position and the MPCC?

I have a ZWO ASI294MC Pro, which has 6.5mm of back focus, and I want to connect it to my MPCC. In your answer to Keith Krayanek's April 2018 question about a similar camera, you recommended spacers totaling 55mm. But adding 55m to 6.5.mm would equal 61.5mm. Is this number correct? Also, with a M48 mounting surface, do I need a total of 57.5mm of back focus (6.5mm + 51.0mm) or 64mm (6.5mm + 57.5mm)? Thank you.

Can the MPCC be used with the Hyperion Zoom 2.25x Barlow lens for imaging? I can use the Focusing Eyepiece Holder and Varilock combination to connect them, but will this actually work and if so, what length should I set between the MPCC and Barlow?

I have purchased a Baader MPCC Multi Purpose Coma Corrector Mark III for use with my Celestron CN-8 f/5 8 inch Newtonian reflector. I am using a Canon 1100D DSLR and standard Canon T-Ring adapter. When these are attached they are then attached to the tube using the Celestron 2 inch eyepiece adapter.

The problem I am having is that I cannot get the camera to focus using the MPCC and 2 inch eyepiece adapter. I am at the limit of the telescope focuser which cannot move the camera near enough to the focal point of the telescope.

I would have thought that the MPCC/Canon/Celestron combination would be a common one yet it doesn't work.

Do you have any suggestions how this could be solved? For example, are you aware of a shorter 2 inch eyepiece being available? Is there an attachment that can fit in to the threads at the front/inside of the MPCC which would replace the 2 inch eyepiece and allow the camera sensor to reach the focal point?

I bought the MPCC to use with a Skywatcher Explorer 150d newton. Using an asi294mc, the only way I will get focus at infinity is to screw the corrector directly in the 11mm m42-m42 ring that comes with the asi. Adding spacers to reach 55mm doesn’t work. I am thus far from that 55mm that is supposedly required to reach focus. Any idea about what is happening here??

I am interested on 2" MPCC Mark III Coma corrector, but I have a Sony Alpha 900 Full Frame camera. Even though I understand I can use it "as it comes" with some vignetting, I wonder what else would I need in order to fit it not with the normal T2 but with the 48mm option to get (supposely) full coverage.
I have seen that the T2 adapter I already have include something very similar to this (https://www.baader-planetarium.com/en/baader-m48-spacer-ring-for-mpcc-iii--protective-eos-t-ring.html), so I wonder if I can just use the T2 adapter I have without that, or if I would need a different one, for example "Baader Wide-T-Ring Sony Alpha and Minolta Maxxum with D52i to T-2 and S52" (not sure if this is the one I have)
I am afraid once I have ordered the corrector I might end up needing something else...

I have just purchased the Orion 10" f/3.9 Newtonian Astrograph Reflector Telescope. Can you advise if the 2" MPCC Mark III (Multi-Purpose Coma Corrector for Newtons) is compatible. I will be fitting it to a cannon 400d camera.

DSLR Sony SLT-A99 and CCD QHY695A (according to FAQ back focus is 33mm without off axis guider and 46mm with off axis guider)

I already have Adapter ring from M48 to Sony Alpha bajonet

What adapters do I need to properly connect MPCC to each camera to ensure best coma correction.

Several people have asked about using the M48 thread for use with Nikon F to M48 Mount adapters. You suggest using the EOS adaption which is no use at all. I would like to use the MPCC's M48 with an 8300 CCD system that has a 55mm Back Focus. How critical is the 55mm Back Focus? Would it still provide a sharp flat field for an 8300 sensor (22.5mm diagonal) at 57.5mm??

I want a connecting ring between my Pentax K200D and the Multi Purpose Coma Corrector # 2458400. The coma corrector fits to a Newtonian telescoop from GSO (Guang Sheng Optical, Taiwan), the F4 model (reflector 200mm, focus 800mm). The only thing is that the register distance between the corrector and the filmplane must be correct for Pentax K. Registerdistance is the distance from last lenselement from a Pentax lens to the filmplane which is 45,46 millimeter.

Your website about your Baader T-ring tells, quote: “Represents the standard exact distance of 55.0mm from the front support surface of the T-ring to the image plane of the camera body forth”

Now, this 55,0mm is longer than the 45,46mm registerdistance from Pentax.
Does the ring still work and let focus?

Coma corrector for Newton telescopes that neither reduces the focal length nor the image field of your telescope

Baader MPCC Mark III - Multi Purpose Newton Coma Correktor T2
Canon DSLR with Protective Canon DSLR T-Ring, M48 ring and MPCC for maximum clear aperture

The Multi Purpose Coma Corrector Mark III eliminates coma across the full photographic field without manipulating the focal length. The proprietory lens design has our Phantom Group™ wideband multicoating on all air to glass surfaces. This treatment delivers highest transmission combined with lowest amount of scatter and reflections across a very wide spectral range from UV to NIR. The original MPCC had been designed for an f/ratio of f4.5 to f6. The new Mark III however works exceptionally well even down to f3.5. Stars remain pinpoints across the field and the visual use likewise is made much easier - with the help of the 2" (M48) male filter thread at the eyepiece facing side.

Photographic Application

The base-element 2858400A is prepared for use with a DSLR and a standard T-ring, it can be used over the T-2 thread on all standard T-rings. Since the T-thread vignettes with cameras with larger sensors (such as full-format DSLRs), the T-2 thread can be removed. Then an M48 thread is free, and the free aperture increases from 38 to 44 mm. The M48 spacer ring for MPCC III / Protective EOS T-ring can be connected directly to the Protective CANON DSLR T-ring. 

This means that you do not only have sharp stars in the entire picture but also illuminate large sensors!

Visual and photographic application

In addition, the MPCC can be used both visually and photographically. The V-1 set # 2454803 contains the necessary adapters for most eyepieces or cameras with a 1.25 "socket - a detailed description can be found in the manual, which can be can be downloaded as a PDF under the tab "Downloads". The basic element of the MPCC can be upgraded at any time for visual use, all necessary parts are also available separately.

MPCC III & IR Cut Moon & Skyglow Filter
Die Ware wurde pünktlich wie angekündigt geliefert. Der Koma-Korrektor wurde vollständig inkl. Zubehör und mit einer ausführlichen Beschreibung geliefert.
Ich habe im Anschluss alle Varianten mit Verwendung einer Astrokamera als auch mit meiner Vollformat DSLR ausprobiert.
Ich habe mir den MPCC Mark III deshalb bestellt, da ich mit dem Korrektor, der mit dem Newton mitgeliefert wurde, vor allem mit der Vollformat DSLR keine überzeugenden Ergebnisse z. B. bei Komet C/2019 Y4 ATLAS, im Randbereich des Bildes erreichen konnte.
Die erste Anwendung mit dieser Ausstattung, war ein Versuch in der letzten Vollmondnacht. Die Ergebnisse waren auf jeden Fall zufriedenstellend, wenn mir auch für wirklich gute Ergebnisse das schlechte Seeing in dieser Nacht einen Strich durch die Rechnung machte. Vor allem auch durch Einsatz des Filters waren gute Belichtungszeiten möglich, wenn auch durch das Seeing das Fokussieren schwierig war.
Auf jeden Fall bin ich schon auf weitere Beobachtungen vor allem im Bereich Deep Sky am Newton gespannt und neugierig.

Erstklassiges System für Fotographie und Beobachtung
Der Baader MPCC für den visuellen und photographischen Gebrauch kommt in gewohnter Baader Qualität und überzeugt durch präzise Fertigung und funktionales Design, welches eine eigene Ästhetik ausstrahlt. Dieses durchdachte Kombipaket erlaubt die schnelle Adaption an Okulare oder Kameras. Ein hervorragendes Produkt. Als Ziel für das First Light für Teleskop und Kamera und den MPCC wählte ich H&Chi Persei. Der Komakorrektor überzeugt optisch und mechanisch. Die große Linse und die Möglichkeit durchgängig 2“ oder T2 Adapter / Hülsen zu verwenden ist ein Garant für gut ausgeleuchtete, große Sensoren. In meinen Augen eine klare Kaufempfehlung.
