I have a 2” clicklock star diagonal which has had the 2” telescope side nosepiece damaged. Is it possible to purchase a new 2” nosepiece separately?

In the description of the Baader 2" ClickLock Diagonal Mirror it shows the 2" nosepiece screws into a S58 dovetail.
I can't seem to find the S58 dovetail replacement on your website. is there an alternative or upgraded version of this?

Is the housing for this diagonal CNC machined? And what features are there that ensure proper alignment of the mirror? What are the features of the mirror glass?

Does the mirror diagonal reflect or pass through the UV/IR into the diagonal aluminum housing?

I want to use a petzval refractor for H-alpha solar observing with a dedicated solar filter. It is in general recommended not to use an UV/IR cut filter before the diagonal, since UV/IR reflections can come to focus in the petzval rear glass elements and harm the scope. If it rejects UV/IR by passing UV/IR into the diagonal housing, this is a big sales argument for the dielectric mirror when using a petzval scope.

Best regards
Thomas

I have a Baader 2" click lock diagonal (#2956100) directly mounted to a SCT with a Baader 2" Nexstar locking ring. I just received a Baader 2" filter, but can find no way to insert this into the optical path, before or after the mirror. Is there an adapter available for this. Ideally, I would like to leave the filter in places instead of moving it from one eyepiece to another.

I have a Celestron CPC 925. I have just bought the Baader 2 inch Clicklock Dialectric diagonal. Your user guide says that if I unscrew the Kerf nosepiece the diagonal has two more useful connections: An SCT thread and a S58 dovetail. However, when I try to screw the diagonal body onto my SCT it will only screw on half a turn. The threads seem to be diffferent. what am I doing wrong? How do I access the SCT thread on the diagonal?

When mounting the diagonal on Celestron Edge HD 8" SCT, what's the optical path difference between:
- Using #2956220 Clicklock-SC
- Directly attaching the diagonal to the telescope using #245827 SCT lockring?

Try as I might, I cannot remove just the 2" nosepiece from the S58 dovetail: it is as though it is permanently joined to the S58 dovetail, and the whole assembly screws off. Am I doing something wrong? And if just the 2" nosepiece cannot be removed after all, Is it possible to obtain the S58 dovetail used here separately?

I would like to connect an adapter having a male M48x0.75 thread directly to the diagonal with the nosepiece removed (such as the TSFLAT2). The diagonal with nosepiece removed has an SCT female thread, so I need an adapter that will change the SCT female thread to an M48x0.75 female thread. Many people are considering this.

Would either of these adapters work for this purpose? Or would you recommend another?
1. This Baader adapter: https://www.baader-planetarium.com/en/2%22a--m48i-zero-length-reducing-piece-(no-optical-height).html
2. https://agenaastro.com/blue-fireball-sct-thread-male-male-adapter-female-48mm-thread.html

Thanks for your help.

I just got the Baader 2" ClickLock Diagonal Mirror mounted on my C8 EdgeHD. Can I put my Morpheus 12.5 mm directly in? Is there any risk of it touching the mirror? I'm currently using it with a 2“/1.25" adapter, as I was not sure and didn't want to risk my new diagonal :)

I bought this product a few days ago but don't want to use it in its native configuration. I will take off the nosepiece and the ClickLock adapter.

However, I want to use the ClickLock adapter elsewhere in my setup but will need the 2" SCT adapter (2"/S58) provided with the ClickLock SC/HD (2") clamp (C5" - C9¼") #2956220.

I don't want the M55/2"/S58 ring that comes twice with this diagonal but the 2"/S58 ring (without M55 threads) that comes with ClickLock SC/HD (2") #2956220.

Best regards,
Yves

I have this diagonal (although I misplaced it’s 2” nosepiece). How do I connect it to a Televue TV-85 (pre 2011 model) ?. Will I need a 2” nosepiece? If so can you let me know the part code?. Is there a click lock clamp I can use instead? If so, what is the part code for this?
Many thanks!

For H-alpha solar observation, when using a front-mounted D-ERF energy rejection filter, what would be the best mirror diagonal to use? The 2" dielectric or the 2" BBHS silver mirror? Or would they both be equally good, given that the D-ERF has already narrowed the bandpass.

  • CLICKLOCK Funktion
  • bisher nichts Negatives
