What's the actual size of your 2" filters in "mm" with and without frame/ring? What step down adapter is suggested from a 52 mm to "-- mm"?

What are the threads and pitch of your 1.25" and 2" filters?
Question by: Anders G. on Sep 20, 2017 12:55:00 PM | 1 Answer(s)
Our 1.25" filters have a M28.5 male (and M28.5 front female) thread / our 2" filters have a M48 male (and M48 front female) thread
Both thread sizes come with our proprietary pitch - which is not the same for the female and male threads.
This is our own proprietary "emergency solution" for uniting a world were manufacturers all over the world copy from each other - to the point that there are almost a dozen different pitches in use for male and female threads. Traditionally US-companies used to do a UNF-based pitch and the rest of the world went for metric threads - but these do vary from 0.5 to 0.75.
For this reason it does not make sense to publish our non standard pitch because our pitch is made to cope with all existing metric and US-pitch standards - and as said - our solution has evolved from sheer necessity. It is a mixture of a queer pitch and under-/over-dimensioning . We will not want to declare this as a standard and get bashed up for it. It works for us and is a result of 20 years adaptation to fit our filters onto all crazy threads we have seen. And inspite of this - every now and then there comes another "dragonboat-eyepiece" were even our filters may not fit...

Should I change the white balance of the camera for day use, after installing the filter?
Question by: Rafael Sampaio on Oct 26, 2021 2:20:00 AM | 1 Answer(s)
You may need to do this, because daylight images become "pink" when the red spectrum is widened with our filter. You can also use image processing afterwards to get the right colour balance

I am going to modify Nikon D5600 for astrophotography and want to replace the stock filter with IR/UV cut filter from Badder. I want to increase the Hydrogen-alpha sensitivity. In your website I only see unmounted filters for Canon bodies. Is there any filter I can use for Nikon APS-C body ? I am fine to cut it to proper size in case your filter size is bigger. May I please request your suggestion on which one to purchase ?
Thanks & Regards

None of our filters for modifying Canon cameras works for Nikon or Sony cameras. And we do not have other choices of filters to replace the original filter in the cameras of these brands. We are very sorry.

What is the advantage of replacing the stock filter with this one as opposed to simply removing the stock filter and not replacing it with anything?
Question by: Adrian Knagg-Baugh on Nov 25, 2021 7:52:00 PM | 1 Answer(s)
By blocking the wavelength in IR and UV the image becomes better in contrast, sharper, clearer. Furthermore the sensor is more safe under the filter glass and the focus for the DSLR camera lenses will remain in the same place, without the filter you will experience a slight focus shift

Will this BCF 1 filter fit a Canon SL3/250D?
Question by: Adam S on Mar 24, 2021 8:44:00 PM | 1 Answer(s)
We can only guarantee that it fits for all latest models as we write on our website. The 250D is a quite old model and we are 90% confident it fits there too but we have not tried as we have not seen such a camera in a while.

I am planning to convert a Pentax K-70 with an astro mod.
Do you also provide the BCF 1 sensor filter for this camera?
Specifically the exact filter dimensions are important.
Regards, Bob de Bruin
Question by: Bob de Bruin on Jan 22, 2022 4:44:00 PM | 1 Answer(s)
We are very sorry, we only offer the filters you see on our website and there is mentioned that we offer these filters only for Canon DSLR. There are no plans to offer filters for Pentax Cameras because we need to manufacturer thousands of filters at once - and the Pentax Cameras are not common among amateur astrophotographers so that it would not make sense.

These both camera models have different names in Europe: EOS 1200 and EOS 750. So yes, the filter fits.
