Thin and Loose
I bought this for use on an older 30mm Celestron Ultima, which has a diameter of exactly 40.5mm. Compared with my older winged eyeshield of the exact same style, this new one is flimsy and loose, easily falling off of the eyepiece. My older eyeshield has a thin rubber ring on the inside wall of the eyeshield, which adds a bit of rigidity and allows it to fit snuggly on top of the eyepiece. This new one lacks that ring, so the fit is loose and unsecure.

We're sorry about the inconvenience. This eyeshield is designed for eyepiece diameters from 40.5 - 41.5 mm. So naturally it will be a bit more loose an the smallest diameter compared to an eyeshield that was designed for exactly this diameter. However, it shouldn't be that loose as you describe, maybe you could return/exchange it from your seller?
