Optec TCF-Leo 3" low profile temperature compensating focuser
A small change in ambient temperature can cause otherwise sharp stellar images to bloat in size, ruining the final image and wasting precious observing time. The solution is a temperature probe built into the TCF series focusers- and this is a combination of Optec's time tested and proven TCF focuser with the FocusLynx Controller Hub.
Optec engineers have developed a low profile, yet extremely robust 3-inch focuser for telescope installations where back-focus is at a premium. With the width of a typical 1-1/4" eyepiece, the TCF-Leo provides a unique focusing solution for the Celestron EdgeHD and other telescopes with limited flange-to-focus distances. The proven FocusLynx control system operates the TCF-Leo and can be extended to provide control for a second focuser. It supports the optional Optec WiFi 802.11b/g Wireless Network Option (#1317506 , € 305) and the Optec FocusLynx Hand Control (#1317510 , € 199) .
The unique shape of the TCF-Leo is designed to fit neatly between the mirror and focus knobs of the Celestron EdgeHD C-11 telescope OTA. With a center-to-edge distance of about 2.2-inches (55mm), the TCF-Leo works exceptionally well with Innovation Foresight's On-Axis Guider, providing clearance for large cameras and filter wheels above either of the flat edges of the TCF-Leo. Additionally, the TCF-Leo's 3600 receiver fits directly on to the large 3-inch port of the Optec Perseus 4 Port Instrument Changer (#1317300 , € 5050) for ultra-fine focus of a large format camera.
The TCF-Leo supports several focuser connections including the OPTEC-3000 dovetail, a DSI 3.5" receiver, and a 3-inch split clamp for Wynne Correctors.

Please note: If the Optec TCF-Leo 3" is adapted through the Optec 3600 dovetail, the Optec 3600DM Adapter to mount 3" TCF onto C11/C14 (#1317556 , € 135) is necessary. For a non-software controlled focusing the Optec hand controller is required

With the FocusLynx Controller hub you can link the focuser to the same control hub that functions with any FocusLynx product - allowing you to more deeply integrate this with the rest of your setup! The integration of the FocusLynx with the TCF focuser expands the compatibility of its serial protocols from PC to also include USB, Ethernet, and Wireless WiFi capability - a noticeable upgrade in the ease of usability for the setup as a whole, as it allows you to have a much easier time linking this top quality focusing device to your PC or Laptop to control it remotely.
