Tell me, please, what is the best diagonal to choose for observing objects of distant cosmos and planets:
Baader 2" BBHS ® Mirror Diagonal with 2" ClickLock Clamp
Baader 2" BBHS ® Prism Star Diagonal Prism with 2" ClickLock Clamp
And yet, the mass of them is indicated the same, is there any error here? The prism should be heavier? Thank you for your responses!

Are the BBHS coatings easy to clean? Do the coatings have a life comparable to your dielectric coatings? Do the coatings degrade over time and at what rate? Is there a difference in performance between your dielectric diagonal and the BBHS one, what are the differences and are they significant or very slight? I own an early Televue APO 4 inch refractor.

What's the easiest way to attach the "Baader 2" BBHS ® Mirror Diagonal with 2" ClickLock Clamp" to Televue NP127is and keeping the optical path shortest for Denkmeier Binotron 27 system?

Is there also a way how to add UFC to the path and keep somehow ClickLock detachable for the bino vs single eyepiece use?

I have an older 2" BBHS® Mirror Diagonal # 2456115 that fits into my Takahashi TSA-102. I would like to add a Baader Maxbright II binoviewer. Can the Clicklock be unthreaded to reveal a T2 thread? I saw somewhere about removing the small hex bolts (about 1 mm) that circle the side of the clicklock closest to the mirror. However, they seem impossible to remove as I can't find a tool that small. On the other hand the clicklock seems to be on very tight so I don't won't to force it if it is not threaded.
If it can't be removed I may buy a prism diagonal for very slightly better stray and scattered light performance. Do you think that this assessment of scatter is true?

Do you have a dimensioned line drawing available for the 2" BBHS mirror diagonal? I'm designing a carrying case for lenses and accessories and want to include room for the future purchase of this diagonal. Thanks.

Unfortunately weather and work prevents my giving a detailed review, however I can definitely give an initial impression over a few nights use of this extremely fine product.

There is somewhat of an undefinable quality using the BBHS over OEM and upgrade diagonals that is extremely pleasurable. While contrast and clarity are easy to spot in the rendition of stars and all objects, there is a very definite 'softness' or lack of harshness produced... very much like seeing with the naked eye. Without words, I guess I liken it to listening to music that was produced by warm analog means versus the harsh digital process.

I can easily vouch for the high quality and precision of the BBHS... and of course the Clicklock provides incredible convenience and safety.

Lastly, Tobias is a gem.... always there to help... extremely quick in response, even tho we have oceans between us.

Yes the product is a bit costly, however definitely not overpriced. If you are like me and truly appreciate the splendor of the heavens above, this product can help take you there.

Thanx Tobias... and Baader!
  • The pleasant, comfortable yet exacting view it allows.
  • It does not guarantee clear skies
    • @PwrHsePro Did you try the Ethos 21mm with this BBHS diagonal (#2456115)?I read a review on saying that the Ethos barrel is too long to fit in the ClickLock. Is that true? Thanks a lot
    • @Guest Hi!I dont recall... I do use the 21mm Ethos alot, but dont recall if I used it with the BBHS... I'll try to try that this weekend...
    • @JefferySHi, have you got the chance to try the Ethos 21mm in the BBHS diagonal? Thanks
    • @Guest , no, we had poor weather again last weekend... if you are looking for an answer to see if they items are physically compatible, I can try to check later today. The 21mm is my main eyepiece, and I dont recall a problem.
    • @Guest PwrHsePro - I just tried it and it seems to fit fine... I would upload a pic, but dont see that option.
