I want to get your 2" High Speed filters for my Canon 400mm f/2.8 USM L ii prime DSLR lens & to share with my soon coming RASA. The "Canon 52 (Wii)" Drop In filter universal size is 52mm filter size and 48mm thread - Which adapter do I need to adapt to my Canon drop in...and is the full diameter of your 2" high speed filters under 52" (or it won't fit in the drop in casing)?

I want to get your 2" filter and place it in my imaging chain with standard 48mm 0.75mm threads on both sides (one male one female). It looks like your 2" filter uses 48mm threads with nonstandard pitches, so I need to buy adapters but I cannot figure out which adapters to get. Thanks!

Hi, do you make an L extreme filter that will fit a Canon L lens with 52mm drop in filter?

The actual glass in the existing filter looks to be around 43mm wide.

I have a 58mm DSLR lens so I purchased # 2408166 - Baader DSLR-2" Filter Holder M48/SP54 and
# 2958058 - Baader Hyperion DT-Ring SP54/M58. They fit together perfectly as shown in the simulation video. However my 2” Optolong L-eXtreme filter will not pass through the front to engage the threads. I can install the filter from the inner side of 2408166 but then the filter may be facing the wrong direction. Please advise. Thank you.

I have a number of Hyperion & Morpheus eyepieces, and I want to use 2 single polarizing filters to control moonlight, etc. I'll attach a 2" filter to the diagonal, but where should I put the second (either a 2" or 1.25") filter on the eyepiece? And where should it go on the Morpeus? If, on the Hyperion, it goes between the nosepiece and the body, will that affect the characteristics of the eyepiece?

Adaptation of 2 inch filters onto DSLR camera-lenses

2 Inch Baader Filter Adaptation for DSLR Camera Lenses
2 Inch Baader Filter Adaptation for DSLR Camera Lenses

Many astronomical filter-designs are perfectly suited for use with a DSLR-camera lens. Here we explain how to do this.

Our largest cell mounted filters measure 2" in mechanical diameter (having a metric thread of M48). The clear aperture is 46 mm.

In order to ease the adaptation of our 2" filters onto most camera lenses, we produce a general-adapter, to convert from the ASTRO-2" Standard (M48) into a more common photo-standard of SP54 mm. This ring is named: DSLR 2" FilterHolder M48/SP54 (item #2408166).

Individual lens adapters for most camera-lens threads are available to fit onto this filter holder. Larger lens threads may be utilized by adding another 62 mm stepper-ring.

Lens Adapter Ring: SP 54/M46 (#2958046) / SP 54/M49 (#2958049) / SP 54/M52 (#2958052) / SP 54/M55 (#2958055) / SP 54/M58 (#2958058) / SP 54/M62 (#2958062).

Step-up Rings (for cameras lenses with thread larger than M62): M62/M67 (#2968067), M62/M72(#2968072), M62/M77(#2968077), M62/M82(#2968082).M62/M67 (# 296 8067), M62/M72 (# 296 8072), M62/M77 (# 296 8077), M62/M82 (# 296 8082)

The animation right show how it works: The lens thread adapter (in this case M62 or M55 or M49) fastens onto the camera lens, next comes the Filter-Holder M48 (# 2408166) and lastly any 2" (M48) Baader-filter will thread onto the assembly.
