  • Baader Adapter M82/M68
    Links large Riccardi Reducer to Baader M68 gear - with some work and lubrication.
    I bought this to link the camera side M82 female thread on the large Riccardi Reducer to my M68 imaging train including the UFC system. It now works well (see image) but I had to deal with two issues: 1. My copy is an extremely tight fit on my copy of the Riccardi Reducer. At first I thought the thread on one of the parts was damaged as I could only get half a turn on but having gone over both with a magnifying glass it was clear that both threads were OK. I had to use some suitable lubricant (WD40) and a large jam jar opener to slowly loosen up the link and now I can screw it on by hand. Of course the last thing you want is a loose fit but I think the tolerance is a bit low on the diameters. 2. On the M68 side the details of the thread geometry as such that while you get a good lock with the M68 male telescope side adapter of the UFC system (two whole 360 turns), with the TS-optics M68 adapters only about a single turn is available due to differences in thread positioning.

    Den Adapter nutze ich um eine Clicklock-Klemme direkt am FTF3035 zu moniteren. Der optische Weg ist geringer als mit dem Starlight Endstück und das Teil ist um ein vielfaches günstiger!

  • Reducer from Pentax 60mm to 2"
    Sehr gut
    Der Ring ist sehr leicht und stabil. Es passt genau zu meinen Bedürfnissen. Ich kann jetzt das volle Potenzial meines Teleskops nutzen. Da Pentax-Geräte heutzutage schwer zu finden sind, ist dieser Ring sehr nützlich. Meine Kamera behält ihre Position bei, ohne sich zu verschieben.

    ... erst mal vielen Dank für die freundliche Überlassung des Materials und die schnelle Abwicklung! Schon beim Entpacken der Teile war ich sehr positiv überrascht, da alles bereits in gebrauchsfertigem Zustand ... ... Fazit: Für mich ist es klar, dass ich Sie in sofern "leider enttäuschen" muss, da ich die Sachen bestimmt nicht mehr zurückschicken werde.

    Its more a photographic tool. You can use it visually but its not very satisfying because you see an obstruction on the outside and the image is more concentrated and therefore brighter which affects the visual surface contrast

    It is possible but this would require to put a center "ring.mark" onto the secondary mirror.
    In the beginning of this product we planned to provide the necessary ringshaped sticker plus instructions, but we had to learn that the procedure is too difficult for most people, so we gave up on promoting the laser colli for this optical system

    I see removal holes in this adapter for what looks like a spanner wrench. Do you sell a spanner wrench to release the inner ring of this adapter?

    We do have Adjustable pin type face wrench ø 2mm, # 2450062, but it will not fit into this adapter. However, there are several manufacturers of tools to open and repair camera lenses - with these keywords or "Camera Lens repair tool", you should easily find a suitable tool to reach these holes.

    I have read that using a Baader IR-Pass Filter just to be extra safe might be a good idea. what do you think of using such a filter with this Herschel Wedge?

    Of course, we will gladly sell you such a UV/IR-cut-filter. It doesn't do any harm, as long as it is of good quality and doesn't cause reflexions.
    Such a filter may even be a wise choice if you decide to use the prism with ND-filters by other manufacturers, where you don't know if they let UV/IR pass or not. However, if you use our included filters, they do not only dim the visible light, but also block the remaining UV/IR.

    If I am using an Edge8/Hyperstar v4/294MM-Pro (21mm image diagonal, 28mm image circle), would I benefit from the smaller filters compared to the larger ones? I want to buy 2” for when I go full-frame, but I need to make sure it will work properly for my current setup as well.

    At f/10 or even with the 0.7x reducer, you do not need the highspeed filters, the regular filters will work better. To deal with the steeper light cone at faster f/ratios, the filters need to be pre-shifted, so that a ilter for f/2 needs to be different from a filter for f/3 and from one for f/4 or slower.
