Baader Wide-T-Ring Nikon Z to connect Nikon Z cameras on the Astro T-2 system and the S52 dovetail
All Baader Wide-T-rings have an S52 dovetail in addition to the inserted T-2 ring. This allows the T-ring to be modified to an M48 female thread using the S52 / M48 adapter #2958552, or to use the S52 barrel #2958551 without the T-2 reduction. With the S52 / M68 adapter # 2458252, the Wide-T-Ring can be directly attached to an M68 male thread to securely fasten your camera to the widest possible aperture.
All Baader Wide T-rings can be directly adapted to an UFC (Universal Filter Changer) with the optional Baader UFC S52 dovetail camera-adapter (#2459119), in order to change different filter sizes directly in front of the camera sensor.
Furthermore, the illumination of the camera chips improved significantly, mainly because of the larger clear aperture.
On the camera side: Nikon Z bayonet
Telescope side: S52 dovetail clamp incl. S52/T-2 internal thread with 0.75mm pitch

I don't think I received the right answer to my question on connecting a Nikon Z6 to a Celestron EdgeHD 8.

According to Celestron, the back focus distance for the EdgeHD 8" is 133.3mm.

The Nikon Z series has got a flange distance of 16mm, the Wide T-ring is 8.3mm long, so in total its 24.3mm. The Celestron t-adapter is 50mm long for a total of 74.3mm.

Your answer said I needed 30.7mm of distance, but don't I still need 59mm of distance (133.3 - 16 - 8.3 - 50 = 59)?

Can I attach the T-Ring to a Takahashi FS-60CB with the Multiflattener 1.04x which has a M52x0.75 thread and requires a backfocus of 87.5mm? Which parts would I need?

I have a nikon z6 and need the exact part list needed to connect it to a celestron cpc 11 with the celestron reducer/corrector f/6.3. I would like two options one providing ability to use a filter and one without the ability to use a filter. Thank you.

The reducer has got a backfocus of ca. 105mm.

The Nikon Z has got a flange focal distance of 16mm, to which our Wide T-Ring adds 8.3mm. The
- T-Adapter (C5, 6, 8, 9-1/4, 11, 14) #93633-A # 820760
adds another 50mm, so you have a distance of 74,3mm and need another 30mm as T-2-extensions – e.g.
- 2x Baader T-2 / 15 mm Extension Tube (T-2 part #25A) # 1508154.

For the UFC, you can mount it directly to the SC-thread of the reducer e.g. with

- Baader UFC S70 / 2" SC-thread (f) Telescope-Adapter (optical height: 1 mm) # 2459128
- Baader UFC Base (Filter Chamber) telescope-sided S70 dovetail receptor (optical height: 13 mm) # 2459110
- e.g. Baader UFC 2" (M48) Filter Slider # 2459112 for 2"-filters
- Baader S52 dovetail Camera-Adapter for Wide-T-rings (optical height: 2 mm) # 2459119
- Baader UFC S70/15 Extension 40mm # 2459143
- Baader UFC S70 Extension 5mm # 2459141
- Baader UFC S70 VariLock 15-20mm extension # 2459145 set to 20mm
That's 81mm for the UFC plus 24mm for the camera + Wide T-ring

This gives you a larger free aperture than the T-2-adaptation above. Of course, you can insert an empty filter slider to take photos without a filter.

You need the Nikon Z-adapter and the T-adapter which is included with your spotting scope (some Celestron spotting scopes have the T-thread already included in the eypiece, under the rubber eye cup.

The Nikon Z with the T-ring has got a flange distance of ca. 24mm. The distance between camera sensor and eyepiece should be about 95mm for a full frame camera, otherwise there will be vignetting and distortions at the edge of the image. So, you should use T-2-extensions for an additional ca. 70mm, e.g. 1x Baader T-2 / 40 mm Extension Tube (T-2 part #25B) # 1508153 and 2x Baader T-2 / 15 mm Extension Tube (T-2 part #25A)

We also recommend replacing one 15mm-extension with a quick changer (Baader TQC/TCR Heavy duty T-2 Quick Changing System (T-2 part #06A & #07) # 2456322 or Baader Complete T-2 Changer System (T-2 parts #06 & #07) # 2456321). Then you can rotate the camera easier as it is otherwise screwed onto the eyepiece, and you'd have to rotate the whole eyepiece to adapt the camera orientation.

Baader UFC S70 / 2" SC-thread (f) Telescope-Adapter (optical height: 1 mm) # 2459128
to directly attach it to the telescope.

This gives you a total length of 40,3mm.

Optimum back focus for Celestron Schmidt Cassegrains is 5" or 127mm, so you may want
2x Baader UFC S70/15 Extension 40mm # 2459143
1x Baader UFC S70 Extension 5mm # 2459141
to achieve 125,3mm (126mm with a 2mm thick filter), which is close enough to the perfect distance.

If you use a seperate focuser or an Off-Axis-Guider, you need less extensions. In that case, you may need another telescope adapter instead of #2459128, depending on the thread on the telescope side.

I would be thankful for some help in choosing parts to attached my Nikon Z7 camera to an old Celestron Ultima 11 telescope equipped with a Celestron off-axis guider. Starting from the camera (flange distance 16mm) I' believe I would need a Baader t-ring adapter #2408335 (8.3 mm) and a M48 adapter #2958552. I would screw this directly to the Celestron M48 adapter which comes with the OAG (12.5 mm). Next would come the OAG itself (29 mm).

I have already ordered the Baader Click-lock adapter #2956233 to replace my existing visual back (53 mm). If my math is correct, this adds up to 118.8 mm. My original Celestron Manual states that the back focus distance at f/10 from the primary mirror baffle tube is 151.765 mm. This means I need to provide additional spacing of 32.965 mm that I am not sure how to get. Would I want to add this before the OAG rather than after the OAG in order to keep the distance from my OAG prism to the camera sensor at a minimum?

I have a nikon Z6 that I want to use with my Sky-watcher Esprit 100ED Super AP0 telescope that requires 63mm from the 48mm field flattener to the camera Sensor (16mm from sensor to camera lense ring mount on my Z6). I want to use your wide T-ring adapter with your universal filter changer and your 2 in round filters. But for the life of me I can't figure out your system to set up what I need? Can you recommend the components I would need? Thanks,

OK, A bit confused re the products I need.
I wish to connect my Nikon Z6 to my Astro-Physics 130 GT, with the 2.7" focuser. I have purchased the Wide T ring for the Z camera, as well as the universal filter changer. I am not using a reducer or field flattener. What else do I need to purchase?

You need a matching camera-sided adapter ("back plate") for the UFC; there are several options

The best would be
Baader UFC S52 dovetail camera-adapter #2459119
which fits directly to the Wide T-Ring, if you remove the T-2-inset from the Wide-T-Ring (there should be an Allen key included with the T-ring to do this). This gives you the widest free aperture and a permanent connection to the UFC, so it's probably the best if you attach the UFC to your telescope with a 2" nosepiece.

If you prefer a screw-coupling, you can also replace the T-2-inset of the Wide-T-ring with the optional
Reducing piece S52 / M48 # 2958552
and combine it with
Baader UFC M48 (m) Camera-Adapter # 2459116
This lets you use the full diameter of a 2" nosepiece or filter, and you can easily unscrew the camera from the filter holder

Otherwise, you can use the
Baader UFC T-2 (m) Camera-Adapter # 2459115
for a screw-coupling.
This is the standard solution as it was used for years, but you are limited to about 40mm of clear aperture because of the T-2-thread – so, if you use a full frame camera, there will be some vignetting at the edges. It's fine for APS-C and smaller sensors.
