  • Baader Neutral Density Filters ND 0.6 / 0.9 / 1.8 / 3.0.
  • For perfect energy management during Lunar and Solar observation. Suitable for solar observing only as an additional filter!
  • If you need to reduce glare and want to use a filter ahead of the focal point (e.g. before a binocular), then the neutral density filters are just right.
  • Fine optical polish results in no loss of sharpness at high magnifications even with a filter position 20-30cm in front of the focal point.
  • Phantom Group coated. No ghosting, reflections or stray light.
  • Threaded both sides of the glass allows combination with other filters (e.g. Baader Colour Filters).

Is the Baader ND 3.0 the correct filter to use with a 120mm refractor and herschel wedge to control intensity for visual use and for ccd photographing sun with the scope and wedge?
Is an additional infra red cut filter needed for visual and ccd use?

What size Filters (Neutral Density, etc) do I buy for my Morpheus and Hyperion Eyepieces? Sorry about asking such a lame question but I chose Morpheus specifically because they (as well as an Hyperion I've ordered) were listed in the 2" Eyepiece category from OPT (I have an Omni XLT 150 w/2" eyepiece). But I need to put my 6.5mm Morpheus into a 2-1.25" adapter, and it's the 1.25" end that attaches to the Filter, correct? So for my 2" Morpheus (and Hyperions) I actually use 1.25" Filters, yeah? Help!

Good morning. Is it possible to use these neutral density filters safely (I mean safely for the filter itself) if I mount them AFTER a 110mm Baader D-ERF and BEFORE the Baader telecentric TZ-3 and following etalon filter, in order to adjust the image glare at the focal point? Thank you very much. Sandro

Important Information for Observing the Sun

Polarizer and neutral density filters need additional filtering (for example, Baader Herschel Prism or Baader Astro Solar Safety Film) before the eyepiece of the telescope for observations of the sun. Using without the appropriate filters can cause damage to the these filters and eyesight.
